Vehicle pickup is the process of receiving your rented vehicle from VARS Car Rental. This is the first step in your rental experience, and we want to make it as smooth and efficient as possible. Here's everything you need to know about the pickup process.

What is Vehicle Pickup?

Vehicle pickup refers to the moment when you collect your reserved rental vehicle from our location. During this process, you'll complete the necessary paperwork, receive the vehicle keys, and inspect the vehicle to ensure it meets your expectations. Our staff will guide you through the entire process and answer any questions you may have.

Pickup Locations

We offer convenient pickup locations to suit your needs:

  • Main Office: VARS Car Rental, Zmaja od Bosne 7, Sarajevo 71000 - Open Monday to Friday, 08:00 - 17:00
  • Airport Pickup: Sarajevo International Airport - Available 24/7 for your convenience
  • Hotel Pickup: We can arrange pickup from your hotel in Sarajevo (advance booking required)

Required Documents

To complete the pickup process, please bring the following documents:

  • Valid Driver's License: Must be valid for at least 2 years (730 days) and issued in your country of residence
  • Identification Document: Passport or national ID card
  • Credit Card: For the security deposit (the card must be in the name of the main driver)
  • Reservation Confirmation: Print or digital copy of your booking confirmation

Pickup Process

Here's what happens during the pickup process:

  1. Check-in: Present your documents at the counter. Our staff will verify your reservation and documents.
  2. Paperwork: Sign the rental agreement and review all terms and conditions.
  3. Payment: Complete payment for the rental period and any additional services (insurance, GPS, etc.).
  4. Security Deposit: A pre-authorization will be placed on your credit card as a security deposit.
  5. Vehicle Inspection: Together with our staff, inspect the vehicle for any existing damage and note it on the inspection form.
  6. Vehicle Orientation: Our staff will explain the vehicle's features, controls, and answer any questions.
  7. Keys Handover: Receive the vehicle keys and you're ready to go!

Vehicle Inspection

Before leaving with the vehicle, it's crucial to inspect it thoroughly. Check for:

  • Exterior damage (scratches, dents, broken lights)
  • Interior condition (stains, tears, missing items)
  • Tire condition and pressure
  • Fuel level (should match the fuel receipt)
  • All lights and indicators
  • Windshield and mirrors

Important: Any damage not noted on the inspection form may be charged to you upon return. Take photos if you notice anything unusual.

  • Have all documents ready before arriving
  • Allow 20-30 minutes for the complete pickup process
  • Ask questions if anything is unclear
  • Take photos of the vehicle before leaving
  • Verify the fuel level matches the receipt
