Important information and guidelines for your rental period
Once you've picked up your rental vehicle, you're ready to start your journey. This guide covers everything you need to know during your rental period - from driving guidelines and responsibilities to what to do in case of emergencies or problems. Follow these guidelines to ensure a safe and enjoyable rental experience.
What Does "During Rental" Mean?
"During rental" refers to the entire period from when you pick up the vehicle until you return it. This includes all the time you have the vehicle in your possession, whether you're driving it or it's parked. During this period, you're responsible for the vehicle's care, maintenance, and safe operation according to the rental agreement.
Your Responsibilities
While you have the vehicle, you're responsible for:
- Safe Driving: Drive safely and responsibly, following all traffic laws and regulations
- Vehicle Care: Take good care of the vehicle and return it in the same condition (normal wear and tear excepted)
- Authorized Drivers: Only authorized drivers listed on the rental agreement can drive the vehicle
- Fuel: Maintain appropriate fuel levels and use the correct fuel type
- Maintenance: Check basic maintenance items (oil, water, tire pressure) regularly
- Security: Lock the vehicle when unattended and keep keys secure
- Reporting Issues: Report any problems, damage, or accidents immediately
Driving Guidelines
Important driving rules and guidelines:
- Valid License: Always carry your valid driver's license with you
- Traffic Laws: Obey all local traffic laws, speed limits, and regulations
- Seat Belts: All passengers must wear seat belts at all times
- No Alcohol: Never drive under the influence of alcohol or drugs
- Road Conditions: Drive according to road and weather conditions
- Rest Stops: Take regular breaks on long journeys to avoid fatigue
- Off-Road: Off-road driving is generally not permitted unless specifically authorized
Vehicle Maintenance During Rental
Basic maintenance you should perform:
- Daily Checks: Check oil level, coolant, and tire pressure daily
- Visual Inspection: Look for any leaks, unusual sounds, or warning lights
- Cleaning: Keep the vehicle reasonably clean (interior and exterior)
- Fluid Levels: Maintain appropriate levels of all fluids
- Service Required: If service is required, contact us immediately - don't wait
- Emergency Kit: Know where the emergency kit, spare tire, and tools are located
Prohibited Activities
The following activities are strictly prohibited:
- Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs
- Allowing unauthorized drivers to operate the vehicle
- Using the vehicle for commercial transport (taxi, delivery, etc.)
- Off-road driving (unless specifically authorized)
- Towing other vehicles (unless the vehicle is equipped for towing)
- Smoking in the vehicle (if prohibited by rental agreement)
- Transporting illegal substances or items
- Removing or tampering with vehicle equipment
